BASIC LIFE SUPPORT

Basic Life Support CPR (BLS) ORIGINAL - American Heart Association Certificate

This class is for anyone taking an AHA class for the first time or have an expired certification.

This American Heart Association couse is designed for anyone in the medical field requiring CPR training: Nurses; physicians; Emergency Medical Technicians; Paramedics; nursing assistants (CNA's); physical, occupational, respiratory therapists and others.

Topics include one and two rescuer CPR for the adult, child and infant; Ambu bag (bag mask) and mouth to mask resuscitation; use of the automatic external defibrillator (AED) and team BLS skills.

Certification: American Heart Association eCard, valid for two years -- issued after the class.

Length: Three hours, includes skills and written test

Cost: is $65 -- this does NOT include the required textbook

Basic Life Support CPR (BLS) ORIGINAL- American Red Cross Certificate

The 2021 Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult, child and infant patients. Consistent with the American Red Cross Focused Updates and Guidelines 2020, BLS is the foundational CPR/AED program typically required for healthcare providers and public safety professionals. Through the use of lecture, skills demonstration, practice and case-based emergency response scenarios with a focus on team-based response, BLS builds the key critical thinking, problem solving, and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes. Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a 2-year Basic Life Support digital certificate with anytime, anywhere access to certificate and training history.

This class is ONLY AVAILABLE if you have a current AHA BLS certification, or expired by no more than 30 days.

This class is for BASIC LIFE SUPPORT SKILLS CHECK only. You must have finished the on-line program before coming to class.

The curriculum is equivalent and follows the same guidelines taught by American Red Cross, American Heart Association, and the National Safety Council.

American Health Association training adheres to OSHA regulations. Meets guidelines of the following organizations: US Dept. of Labor, US Dept. of Health and Human Services.

This class is for everyone that is not working in the medical field. -Daycare providers, personal trainers, coaches, school teachers, construction, etc. The skills in this class include: opening the person's airway, rescue breathing, choking for the conscious and unconscious person, CPR, use of an AED, bleeding control, and first aid. You will also learn the importance of proper patient assessment. Then after a thorough evaluation of the patient you will learn skills such as bleeding control, immobilization of fractures, strains and sprains, burn care, asthma, diabetes, seizures, anaphylactic shock, and much more.

These classes fulfill all requirements for those certified as Foster Parents, Group Homes, Child Cares, Day cares, and Elder Care facilities.

This program meets all OSHA requirements.

INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

INSTRUCTOR TRAINING-American Red Cross Basic Life Support

This class will train Instructor Candidates to teach the Basic Life Support American Red Cross course. It is a blended learning course with online content and classroom segments. The Online material must be completed before attending the classroom activities. (Average time to complete is 4-6 hours) ****If you are concerned about your ability to access or meet the objectives and specific skills of this course successfully, please email Vince at vince@frcpr.com before registering ****

The First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification is valid for 2 years.

Course Prerequisites:

A current hands-on Basic Life Support certificate. A printed copy must be turned in at class check-in. (Certification can be from The Red Cross, American Heart Association, ASHI, Medic First Aid, or NSC) If you do not have a current hands-on certification, call us for class availability and a discount. -A printed copy of your current card must be turned in at check-in. Digital copies will not be accepted.
Correctly demonstrate pediatric CPR/AED and choking management skills at the start of class. If the skills are not demonstrated at a professional competency instructor level after one correction, you will be asked to reschedule.
Completion of the American Red Cross Basic Life Support Instructor Course Online Session before the Instructor class. -The completion certificate or the RedCross "Online Component Completed" email from no-reply@redcross.org must be printed and turned in at check-in. Digital copies will not be accepted.

Course Requirements:

Prompt arrival with all paperwork printed and turned in at check-in is required. Digital copies will not be accepted. Any student not able to meet these requirements will be asked to reschedule.
Active participation during the in-person session, including practice and hands-on portions.
Demonstrate competency of skills during all skills demonstrations.

INSTRUCTOR TRAINING - American Red Cross First Aid and CPR

***IMPORTANT - YOU MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE CONTENT BEFORE ATTENDING CLASS***

This course will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED courses. In order to participate in this course, you must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED (or higher level) certification or equivalent and be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course. Upon registration, it is important that you review and follow the directions on the e-mail attachment sent with your registration confirmation. This is a blended learning course consisting of online content, a precourse skills session and classroom segments. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities. Become an AHA Instructor

Complete an Instructor Candidate Application for the TC before enrolling in an AHA Instructor Course.
Have current AHA provider status in the discipline for that Instructor Course and be proficient in all the skills of that discipline. Disciplines include ACLS, BLS, PALS, PEARS and Heartsaver.
Successfully complete the Instructor Essentials Course for the discipline for which you are becoming an Instructor, including both the online portion and the classroom/hands-on session.
Successfully be monitored teaching within 6 months of completing the hands-on session of their Instructor Essentials Course (TC Coordinators may require additional monitoring, if needed)

Once you become an Instructor, you will have access to the most current emergency cardiovascular care science, course updates, training resources and tools through the online AHA Instructor Network.

BABYSITTER

BABYSITTING Safety Training

The American Red Cross Babysitters Training provides youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic child care and basic first aid. The recommended age for this course is 11-15 years old.

"BABYSITTING BOOTCAMP" (Includes Babysitting Safety & CPR AED and First Aid for Infants and Children

Front Range CPR is a proud provider of the American Red Cross Babysitter's Training and Pediatric First Aid/CPR Course. Babysitter's Training and Pediatric First Aid/CPR provides youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business; keep themselves and other safe and help children behave; and learn about basic child care. The recommended age for this cource is 11 - 15 years old. This course prepares participants for babysitting work by practicing hands-on skills with manikins and learning skills in scenarios. The skills cover first-aid, diaper changing, feeding infants and children, rescue breathing, emergency procedures, safety, and includes First Aid and Pediatric CPR. Marketing and best babysitting business practices are also covered in the course material. Upon successfully completing this course, participants will receive a certification in Babysitting, Pediatric CPR / AED, and First-Aid.

Participants must be at least 11 years of age.

American Red Cross Adult/Peds - FIRST AID,CPR & AED ORIGINAL

The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults children and infants. It is designed for students who need a certification that satisfies OSHA workplace or other regulatory requirements. Upon successful completion a valid 2 year digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED is issued.
